Coach Pierre

A special balloon memorial was held for Coach Pierre this Wednesday at 2pm. One hundred balloons were given out to his students, who simultaneously let them go to honor a sweet and a wonderful man. Lot of people stopped by the tennis courts to say good bye to our tennis teacher. We'll miss him...

Back to school

Today Bay Harbor Elementary opened its doors again to start the third grading period of the school year. While Miami-Dade Schools tries to find out what are they going to do with the K-8 project they have closed the school field.

This is causing some problems:

1) Our kids do not have a space to have recess or PE
2) The barricades thay have put up are all falling down and it's becoming unpleasant and dangerous.

It's time to really think about safety.
See for yourself.

Fool Moon

How many residents do we have in the 33154 zip code?
I’ll take a wild guess: 20.000
Give or take.
Anyway and regardless: I went to the beach, 96th st, to see the January 3rd full moon rising.
It was there, it was amazing to watch, it was free.
Nevertheless I could not count more than 7 people in the surrounding 1000 feet.

Isn’t that foolish?

I invite you on Friday February 2nd.(What will Phil's Winter prognostications be this year?)

Same place at 5PM.

I will even try to smuggle a glass of red wine.

See you there?

Movies on the Green

Next "Movies on the Green" is on January 20th. The BHI Art & Culture foundation is presenting "Live & Become" the award winning Israeli movie but, since the Bay Harbor Elementary school is starting construction, they are having some problems with the venue. On Monday Jan 8th the Foundation will be presenting to the Town of Bay Harbor Council the option to have a vacant lot in Kane Concourse as a possible alternative for screening the series.
